Maine Arts Commission Grant Deadline Reminder
June 27, 2008 is the deadline for the Individual Artist Fellowship program. These grants reward artistic excellence, advance the careers of Maine artists, and promote public awareness regarding the eminence of the creative sector in Maine. The Individual Artist Fellowship program is highly competitive. Individual Artist Fellowships in the amount of $13,000 will be awarded annually. Artistic excellence is the sole criteria. Maine Center for Creativity Announces Call for Entries for Art All Around International Design Competition
The Maine Center for Creativity (MCC), a Portland, Maine-based nonprofit dedicated to promoting the growth of the arts and creative industries in Maine, today announced the official call for entries for its Art All Around? international design competition. The grand prize winner will receive a cash prize of up to $30,000 and the winning design will be painted on 16 of the most visible tanks, including tops, at the Sprague Energy Corp. tank farm in South Portland. The goal of the project is to underscore the importance of creativity as a driving economic force for Maine. Art All Around represents one of the state's largest public art projects to date.
