Sheli Petersen-Children's Illustrator

Sheli’s illustrations for books are her very own synthesis of life drawing, cultural references, and imagination.

She uses mythology as a source for ideas—whether ancient Greek, Mayan, or invented. Inspired by nature also, Sheli’s observations of wildlife and studies from three-dimensional models serve as reference for many of her illustrations.

Sheli’s artwork builds on these diverse interests; helping her to visualize worlds that resonate with contemporary readers.... children and adults alike.

Her more recent books include:

Gigi and the Birthday Ring
by Giselle Fernandez
