The Spooky Show Bash

Robin Swennes' "Creepy Cruella"

Joel Zain Rivers' painting Shut the Door !
The Spooky Show's dreadfully good art was hung last Friday at Kennebooks, the pumpkins were sliced up, childrens' costumes judged and awarded prizes, frightenly interesting food was consumed. Here's a few pics from the show.

Judith trying hard not to cut off her drawing hand... people were kind enough to not take notice of the blood.

David who is a master carver...entertained us all with tall tales and carving at the same time.
"You, yes, you! ...noooo not me!"
A few of the kiddos who donned their Halloween costumes early to partake in a little fun at the event.

Don't worry they were not tortured but left clutching prizes, pumpkins, and books...all happy campers.

Cruella di Ville stopped by for a peek and a pose with her favorite pets....dalamations, of course!

Actually, this Cruella clad Maine Collective Illustrator was the cheese chopping co-coordinator & graphic designer for the event Robin Swennes ...she matched her elaborate costume to her art in the show ...it was as perfect as her design skills! See them for yourself at: www.designchoc.com.

Nicole Fazio's "Nice Costume!" very cute pic Nicole!

Skeleton head cheese spread next to the Sweeney Todd Pies...both favorites with Ghouls and Goblins alike!

David's hands...don't they just look like woodcarver hands?

David, Nancy Cooper Funk's talented woodcarver husband, is also a master of gardening with fearfully fabulous plants ....but that's another story...go to Maine Memories their shared website for more info.

Leticia Plate (as witch below) gave us all a thrill in her black and green make-up and crocodile lucky foot slung around her neck. She gave even me the creeps and I've been to some pretty scary art events. Leticia was kind enough to schlep member's art from Portland and loan us the thermoses to keep the cider tongue searing hot. Thank you Leticia as always!

David's finished carved pumpkin patiently waiting for the witching hour...

The MEIC Spooky Art is hanging all around the store 'til October 31st and then some is off to the Freeport Art Show. Go take a peek while you can at Kennebooks in Kennebunk's Lower Village, Maine.
