Sketch and critique meetings

Hello fellow illustrators,

We all love to draw and some of us like people. So why not combine those two and draw surrounded by people.

Like I mentioned in the previous MEIC meeting, I would love to get together with some fellow illustrators on a weekend afternoon and draw and chat. I know from experience that there is nothing quite as refreshing as drawing with other artists and talking about illustration and all the finer points of the craft. Basically geek out.

So escape the confines of your tiny studio and meet up for a coffee and some sketching. Bring whatever you're working on and we'll talk about it. Bring stuff that inspires you and get inspired. Anything goes! We can meet up in coffee shops, the mall, the zoo,...

I think we should keep this pretty loose. Someone suggests a time and place and we're ready to go. So here goes.

Next weekend, saturday the 8th of May at the Portland Public Market (second floor) starting at 2 p.m. If you're up for it comment on this post. That way anybody can see who's going to be there. Feel free to spread the news.

Wouter

Wouter,

That is a great idea. Good to have it in too. I'll be there if Sachi lets me out to play.

Hi ... I would love to join in sometime ... although I am away from Portland. May is busy, but I would love to do something in June. Please add me to email list if your going to do it again.

Wouter,

If I can take some time away from writing reports (I think I'll need it!) I'Il try to be there. Definitely next time, though. This is just what I need, thanks for taking the initiative.

Nice meeting you last Wednesday,
Mari

Cool to get some comments. If one other person shows up, I'll stick around a couple of hours. LEt's get the ball rolling.

Mari - Nice to meet you too. Hope you can make it Saturday.
